Northwestern NFL Roundup Week 17

Each week I recap how Northwestern football alumni performed in the NFL for WNUR Sports, Northwestern’s student-run radio station, 89.3 FM Chicago. Check out this week’s recap above. This week, Redskins defensive lineman Barry Cofield totaled five tackles and one pass defended, earning him player of the week honors.

Northwestern has eight football alumni currently on NFL active rosters. Here’s how they did this week in the NFL:

Offensive Players

Jeremy Ebert, Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars (Northwestern Class of 2012):
Backup wide receiver in the Jaguars 30-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Zach Strief, Offensive Tackle, New Orleans Saints (Northwestern Class of 2006):
Starting offensive tackle in the Saints 42-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Defensive Players

Brian Arnfelt, Defensive End, Pittsburgh Steelers (Northwestern Class of 2013):
Inactive in the Steelers 20-7 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Corey Wootton, Defensive End, Chicago Bears (Northwestern Class of 2010):
Three tackles (3 solo) and one quarterback hit in the Bears 33-28 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Corbin Bryant, Defensive Tackle, Buffalo Bills (Northwestern Class of 2010):
