Northwestern NFL Roundup Week 16

Each week I recap how Northwestern football alumni performed in the NFL for WNUR Sports, Northwestern’s student-run radio station, 89.3 FM Chicago. Check out this week’s recap above. Chicago Bears defensive end Corey Wootton totaled one tackle, one sack, one tackle for a loss and one quarterback hit in the Bears loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, earning him Player of the Week Honors.

WNUR’s Ari Ross (@aross50) recaps the Week 16 action for Northwestern Wildcats football alumni in the National Football League.

Northwestern has nine football alumni currently on NFL active rosters.

Here’s how they performed this week in the NFL:

Offensive Players
Jeremy Ebert, Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars (Northwestern Class of 2012)
Backup wide receiver in the Jaguars 20-16 loss to the Tennessee Titans

Zach Strief, Offensive Tackle, New Orleans Saints (Northwestern Class of 2006)
Started at offensive tackle and drew a personal foul penalty for unnecessary roughness in the Saints 17-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Defensive Players
Brian Arnfelt, Defensive End, Pittsburgh Steelers (Northwestern Class of 2013)
Backup defensive end in the Steelers 38-31 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Corey Wootton, Defensive End, Chicago Bears (Northwestern Class of 2010)
One tackle (1 solo), one sack, one tackle for a loss and one quarterback…
